With the SA Champions Season starting on Friday 1 May, Dean Kannemeyer has marshalled his big season troops early and fourteen of the powerful attack arrived at Summerveld from their Milnerton base on Tuesday.

Kannemeyer, whose fourteen-strong team travelled from Milnerton, boasts one of his best attacks in many seasons and a notable athlete to alight from the New Turf Carriers float was unbeaten recent Cape Nursery winner, Delta Queen.

The well-related daughter of Var is an exciting prospect and is being targetted at the Gr1 Allan Robertson Championship at  Hollywoodbets Scottsville in May.

Included in Kannemeyer’s string was last season’s top 2yo African Warrior, as well as the handsome Flower Alley grey Azores, who ran a smart races on the fringes in the Cape Derby.

“I am excited about this lovely diverse mix of raced and unraced horses. There is genuine class and I am hoping for a really good season. I am thrilled that they all appear to have travelled well and they were taken for a nice walk yesterday afternoon. We well monitor them closely for the next few days and all owners will receive feedback. It’s going to be a good season,”added Dean.
